What should I write to you about?

Corrections are the most useful thing you can send. Japanese exchanges revise fees, add coins and occasionally shut down, and tax and licensing rules keep moving. If something on a page no longer matches the official source, tell us and we will check it and fix the page. You can use this pre-filled correction email.

Questions about an article, a part that was hard to follow, or a topic you would like covered are welcome too. Our English pages are built around the questions foreigners tend to have, such as whether a residence card works for sign-up or what happens to your crypto when you leave Japan, so tell us what is missing. Requests about personal information go to the same address (see our privacy policy).

How to make your message quick to check

  • The page URL or article title
  • The sentence or number you think is wrong
  • The correct information and a link to the official page that shows it

We work from primary sources such as the FSA register and exchanges' official fee pages, so a source link saves a lot of back and forth. The how we review page explains our checks.

What we can't help with

We can't give personal investment advice ("should I buy now?", "which coin?") or work out your tax. We are an independent information resource, not a financial adviser or tax accountant. For your own tax position, contact your local tax office or a licensed tax accountant (zeirishi); our Japan crypto tax guide explains how the system works.

We also have no access to anyone's exchange account, so deposit, withdrawal and verification problems need to go to the exchange's own support team. If you think you have been targeted by an investment scam, contact the police or Japan's consumer hotline (dial 188) as soon as possible; our crypto scams guide shows the common patterns.

Never send passwords or keys

We will never ask for your password, private key, seed phrase or ID documents. If someone using the CryptoJapan.asia name asks for them, do not reply.
